These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Household Finances application and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Household Finances ("we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account, you explicitly acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
During the account registration process, you are required to affirmatively accept these Terms before your account can be created. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not create an account or use the Service.
Your continued use of the Service after account creation constitutes your ongoing acceptance of these Terms and any updates thereto. We will notify you of material changes to these Terms, and your continued use following such notification indicates your acceptance of the modified Terms.
Household Finances is a financial management application designed to help individuals and households track, manage, and organize their financial transactions. The Service may include features such as transaction tracking, categorization, household sharing, and notifications.
Household Finances is a financial tracking and management tool only. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You should consult qualified professionals for financial decisions. We are not a bank, lender, or financial institution.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you may not use the Service.

Our Service offers optional SMS-based features for transaction tracking and notifications. By providing your mobile phone number and completing SMS verification in your account settings, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Household Finances LLC.
An "SMS Interaction" represents each response message sent to a recipient as part of our SMS expense tracking feature.
When you text an expense, our system processes it and sends a confirmation response. Each response sent to a household member counts as one SMS interaction:
Each paid plan includes a monthly allotment of SMS interactions. You can view your current usage in your account settings. Interaction counts reset at the beginning of each calendar month.
By creating an account, you are automatically opted in to the following notification categories across email, in-app, and push channels:
We do not automatically opt you in to Marketing & Updates emails. Marketing communications require your explicit consent and can be enabled or disabled at any time in your account settings.
You have full control over all notification preferences. You may enable or disable any notification category — including the defaults listed above — at any time through the Notification Preferences section in your account settings.

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through your account settings. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Household Finances and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our prior written consent.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected. The Service is not intended to provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL HOUSEHOLD FINANCES, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Household Finances and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
Eligible subscribers may invite others to join Household Finances. When a referred user subscribes to a paid plan, both parties receive benefits.
Conditions:
We reserve the right to suspend referral privileges or withhold credits in cases of suspected abuse.
If you access the Service through a mobile application downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or any other app distribution platform, the following additional terms apply:
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may also terminate your account at any time by deleting it through your account settings.
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. We will provide notice of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the Last updated date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Informal Resolution: Before initiating any formal dispute proceeding, you agree to first contact us at legal@householdfinances.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Binding Arbitration: If the dispute is not resolved informally, it shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered under the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Commercial Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be seated in Stark County, Ohio. Each party shall bear its own costs, and arbitrator fees shall be split equally between the parties.
Small Claims Exception: Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court in Stark County, Ohio, as an alternative to arbitration.
Class Action Waiver: All disputes shall be resolved on an individual basis. You agree that you may bring claims against Household Finances only in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class action, collective action, or representative proceeding.
Injunctive Relief: Notwithstanding the above, either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to prevent the actual or threatened infringement of intellectual property rights.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
